Larnaca is a vibrant, lively town that is constantly expanding with exciting new social hotspots.
With everything you need, from an excellent shopping experience to a great night out at some of Larnaca’s best bars, the town is packed with things to do, place to go and things to see.
If it’s food you’re looking for then Larnaca offers a range of brilliant local restaurants as well as the big brand favourites, and if you need entertaining then there’s K-Cineplex, festivals and exhibitions for you to visit. It is worth visiting both Kebir (Buyuk) Tzami Mosque and Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque. Just opposite the Medieval Castle and it is perhaps the first Ottoan mosque in Cyprus. However, Hala Sultan Tekke, is located 3km west of Larnaka on the main Salt Lake. You can always find out more about what’s going on in Student’s Orientation Handbook.
As a Larnaca College student, we are committed to providing you with the necessary information, guidance and support for all aspects of your academic study, offering both personal and practical solutions to help you through your time at college.
It is also our responsibility towards our students to create an interesting and supportive environment that meets their wide range of interests and talents as well as making studies as pleasant as possible.
Student’s life is a great opportunity for intellectual, social and occupational growth of students. We systematically try to enhance and enrich the academic programs and lectures from one hand. And from the other hand we put a lot of effort on creating an atmosphere on social interaction and belonging, make new friends and of course creating memories. In order to achieve the above we have thoroughly worked on the following:
Clubs / Societies
We have set up a variety of clubs/societies where students are encouraged to participate and socialise and develop communicational skills.
- Chess Club
- Leisure Club
- Dance Club
- Computer Club
- Cooking Club
Trips
We organize different trips to many interesting places to discover in Cyprus and explore its history, so that the students could come closer to the culture and traditions of Cyprus. A perfect example was an excursion which took place last year (9th of December 2016) to Chirokitia – Lefkara where students exploded the ancient culture of Cyprus, Traditional handmade creations (“Lefkaritika”).
Also, there was a trip to Agros for an Experience Tour in Rose Factory which took place on 9th June 2016, continued with a walking tour in Agros Village and finished with a lunch in a Traditional Tavern “Chrysanthis” in Kakopetria.
Seminars
Orientation Seminars are being organized such as the one that took place in Nicosia in the Cultural Centre of Strovolos under the name “Orientation Seminars for Newcomers (Third Country Nationals) on Sunday 6th of November 2016.
